This is the image for the news article titled Book Bonanza!Hello Kimball Readers!

The Book Bonanza is June 21st!

Dear Parents, this is year four of the Kimball Book Bonanza (formally the Book Exchange), and its growing bigger and better every year.  Every spring, friends and families of Kimball, clear their shelves of out-grown children’s books that are just waiting to be donated to an eager Kimball Cougar Reader. Ever Kimball kid gets BOOKS – whether they donate a book or not. Our goal is to supply our students with plenty of books to read over the summer, in an effort to make sure our students maintain what they have already learned  and continue to grow academically over the summer. If you have books, please donate!

Look for the BOOK BIN at the Kimball front office and tell your friends!

    Did You Know?

    · Having access to books is one of the biggest predictors of a child’s academic success.

    · Summer learning loss can follow students through high school, college, and beyond.

    · In some of the lowest income neighborhoods, there is just one book available for every 300 children. In middle-income neighborhoods, the ratio is 13 books per child.

    · Price is the biggest barrier too book ownership.

    · Parents play a key role in filling in the gaps over the summer.

    · We accept books at Kimball ALL YEAR LONG! We are grateful to accept your donation of books, or perhaps a book resource that you know of, or even your time.

    · We hope for tons of books to sort!
