    Highly Capable & Racial Equity Services Advisory

    Dear families and partners,

    The Seattle Public Schools Advanced Learning Department is establishing a Highly Capable & Racial Equity Services Advisory (HC/RESA) committee. You are invited to apply.

    The HC/RESA will be tasked with supporting the development and implementation of recommended procedures and practices put forward by the Advanced Learning Task Force, which will present final recommendations to the Superintendent after their last meeting on December 10.

    The Advisory Committee will be asked to review, provide input, and give recommendations to the Superintendent on the structures and resources designed to meet the needs of students who require advanced support, develop new models for identification and services, and provide ongoing advising to the Advanced Learning Department.

    The advisory committee will include up to 26 members and membership shall represent the district’s diverse communities. The advisory committee will run for three years and initial terms are two years for members. Meetings are expected to take place every four to six weeks beginning February 4, 2020.
