Kimball School Leadership Announcement

Dear Kimball families and staff,

I am pleased to announce Angela Sheffey-Bogan will be the new principal of Kimball Elementary School beginning July 1.

Principal Sheffey-Bogan was selected through a rigorous formal interview process that included staff, parent, and community participation.

Principal Sheffey-Bogan has over 26 years of experience in education and is a lifelong advocate for children. She calls Seattle her hometown and began her career in 1998 at John Muir Elementary as an instructional assistant, later teaching 3rd grade.

She taught 3rd grade and served as a literacy coach for about five years in Houston before returning to Seattle in 2005. Once back in Seattle, Principal Sheffey-Bogan returned to SPS as a literacy coach at Dearborn Park International Elementary. Most recently, she served as the assistant principal at Wing Luke Elementary.

She was named Highline College’s Distinguished Alumni of the Year in 2019 and joined the Highline College Foundation Board in 2023. She holds degrees in early childhood education from Highline College, a bachelor’s in English from Western Washington University, master’s in teaching from Heritage College, and master’s in educational leadership from the University of Washington.

Principal Sheffey-Bogan champions inclusivity and authenticity within the community. Please join me in welcoming her to Kimball Elementary School!

Sincerely,

Dr. Brent Jones
