Principal Sheffey-Bogan has over 26 years of experience in education and is a lifelong advocate for children. She calls Seattle her hometown and began her career in 1998 at John Muir Elementary as an instructional assistant, later teaching 3rd grade, and finally launched into school leadership.
She served as a literacy coach for about five years in Houston before returning to Seattle in 2005. Once back in Seattle, Principal Sheffey-Bogan returned to SPS as a literacy coach at Dearborn Park International Elementary. Most recently, she served as the assistant principal at Wing Luke Elementary.
Angela has founded two elementary schools, Dearborn Park International School (SPS) and Sartori STEM Elementary (Renton School District). She was named Highline College’s Distinguished Alumni of the Year in 2019 and joined the Highline College Foundation Board in 2023. She holds degrees in early childhood education from Highline College, a bachelor’s in English from Western Washington University, master’s in teaching from Heritage College, and master’s in educational leadership from the University of Washington.
